To celebrate the 50th anniversary of his solo debut, the world’s first large-scale Masayoshi Takanaka Pop-Up Store is coming to Harajuku!
Held in conjunction with the release of the legendary RAINBOW GOBLINS STORY Live at Budokan 1981, this special event honours the extraordinary career of one of Japan’s most celebrated guitarists, whose music continues to captivate audiences around the world.
Visitors can explore a specially curated exhibition featuring Masayoshi Takanaka’s iconic guitars, spectacular large-format photographs from his 2026 World Tour, and a host of displays showcasing the artistry, imagination and unmistakable style that have defined his career.
You will also have the chance to pose for photos with a replica of Takanaka’s iconic red surfboard guitar, now one of his most recognisable trademarks, and experience the excitement of his live performances through spectacular concert footage screened throughout the venue.
The pop-up will also offer an exclusive range of merchandise, including rare items inspired by the artwork of Takanaka’s most beloved albums. In addition, fans in Japan will have their first opportunity to purchase the exclusive merchandise that proved hugely popular at the 2026 World Tour pop-up stores overseas.
For a limited time only, SUPER TAKANAKA POP UP! takes over Takeshita Street in Harajuku—the home of Japanese pop culture.
